I've always liked big problems, but not just any big problems. I especially like word problems, like figuring out the cost of something. I also really liked the mental math tricks you taught us. I was able to use them on a standardized test to solve problems faster.

In the days before camp begins, I send each family detailed guidance and a supply list — simple, everyday items most students already have at home. Each day we meet live on Zoom, where children can ask questions as they work and share what they’re making in real time. In my experience, this works wonderfully — the warmth of a small circle carries right through the screen.
If you’d like the detail on how the screen is used, and what the children’s hands are doing for most of the hour, I’ve written it out on the classes page.
Choose a camp above, or pick one here. I'll confirm your spot by email within two days and send the supply list and Zoom link the week before we start.
